Unbelievable.....

GO IRISH! (6-2)

And Congrats! to the 2008 World Champs, The Phillies!

Tonight I heard some incredibly shocking news from a co-worker. I didn't believe the story because he(the co-worker) is pretty well known for believing that the sky was falling if he heard it from anyone. But although I wanted to hope it wasn't, this story was very true. If you've heard the story you know just how sad, frustrating and easily preventable the story is. If not, here's the story itself.

8 yr. old Christopher Bizilj and his father Charles Bizilj from Ashton Conn. attended a Machine Gun Shoot and Firearms Expo at the Westfield Sportsman's Club in Western Massachusetts on Sunday, October 26th. With the supervision of a range officer and permission of his father, Christopher was allowed an UZI to fire at a Pumpkin. The 8 yr. old lost control of the firearm as it recoiled, taking the boys life.

This is one of the most tragic stories I have ever heard. Having read comments towards the incident, most are strongly worded and against the father of Chris. I agree with the commentators on the fact that the father letting the 8 yr. old fire such a powerful automatic weapon was top of the line irresponsible. But, on the other hand, I could never want or EVER even imagine the emotional pain and agony the father is and will be going through for the rest of his life.
